HO, HO, HO Merry-Go-Round We Go!
The 32nd annual Carousel Christmas will now be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December, 8th because of inclement weather. Come to Carousel Park at the Kit Carson County Fairgrounds in Burlington for free rides and free admission to the Carousel Museum. The Kit Carson County Carousel’s fully restored magnificent Wurlitzer Monster Military Band Organ will be churning out seasonal music for the carousel’s riders and the Victorian Carolers will be singing “songs of old” in the museum and strolling through Carousel Park.
A special Silent Auction will be held in the museum building from 1:30 to 3:00. All proceeds from over 20 unique donated baskets and other items will go towards the continued “feeding” of the wooden lion and his forty-five 114 year-old friends
This special Sunday afternoon of complimentary fun has been organized by the Kit Carson County Carousel Association as a small token of appreciation to citizens throughout the area for their support throughout the year and to offer everyone an opportunity to ride the famous carousel animals in a wintery and very “Christmassy” setting. . .a true change of atmosphere from the regular summer season. Father Christmas has also been invited to stop by the carousel that afternoon. Father Christmas will be distributing Christmas novelties to everyone and the old-fashioned 1905 era Santa Claus will be glad to pose for pictures for those wanting to bring their cameras. The Burlington Chamber of Commerce will be serving complimentary homemade cookies and cider in the museum.
In case of inclement weather, please see our Facebook page for the most up to date information.
