Mug Shots!

2017 marks the fourteenth year for the custom hand-thrown pottery mugs sold in the carousel’s gift shop: Hoofbeats.  Each of the outside row animals except the goat, zebra and deer have been featured on a mug and this season the zebra finally made the cut!  Each of the previously issued mugs are sold out but occasionally, the Carousel Association has been able to buy back mugs sold during the past thirteen seasons from estate sales or has received some of the earlier ones as donations.  Therefore, depending on when you stop by Hoofbeats…you might just find one of the other animals nestled next to the zebra. This year’s mug comes in five different colors and it is anticipated that the mugs will literally “trot off the shelf” once Hoofbeats opens for the summer season and first come, first served. Opening day is Saturday, May 27 at 11:00 a.m.
